Menachem Katz
Founder & Chair

Menachem brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to Pakal Cafe. With a distinguished background in supporting Israel's lone soldier community, Menachem has been instrumental in various initiatives aimed at aiding lone soldiers, volunteers, and first responders. As the former COO of the LSC, a nonprofit dedicated to the welfare of lone soldiers, and Director of Operations at the Ari Fuld Project, an organization focused on Israeli advocacy and empowerment of the IDF, Menachem's dedication to volunteerism is unwavering.

As the visionary founder and board chair of Pakal Cafe, Menachem has consistently demonstrated his leadership and passion for community service. Menachem's passion for fostering community and aiding others stands as a beacon of the giving back spirit that Pakal Cafe aims to spread across Am Yisrael.

Residing in Efrat with his wife, Ruth, and their seven children, Menachem's life and work are a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of dedicated service.

Yehoshua Sigala
Founding Board Member

Yehoshua serves as a Founding Board Member of Pakal Cafe and a passionate community builder dedicated to supporting lone soldiers and volunteers in Israel. Contributing to the strategic direction and governance of the organization. His involvement from the early stages has helped shape the group’s support of volunteers and lone soldiers throughout Israel.

Alongside his nonprofit work, Yehoshua is also a professional photographer, bringing creativity, warmth, and a people-first perspective to everything he does. He lives in Israel with his family and is deeply committed to service, community, and meaningful impact.

Hershey Spaeth
Executive Board

Hershey Spaeth serves on the Executive Board of Pakal Cafe, providing leadership, oversight, and strategic guidance as the organization continues to grow. He plays a key role in strengthening governance and supporting thoughtful decision-making to ensure Pakal Cafe remains aligned with its mission to build community and empower volunteers.

]Hershey lives in Efrat with his wife, four children, and their dog, and is deeply committed to his community. His dedication to behind-the-scenes leadership helps sustain the organization as a reliable and values-driven initiative.

Erik Claster
Founding Board Member

Erik Claster is a founding board member of Pakal Cafe. With firsthand experience in service and community engagement, Erik brings a thoughtful and grounded perspective to the organization’s work. His commitment to supporting those who give of themselves in service helps guide Pakal Cafe as it continues to grow and expand its reach. Originally from the United States, Erik served in the IDF’s Givati Brigade and continues to serve in reserve duty, an experience that deeply informs his dedication to community and volunteer support.

Erik lives in Gush Etzion and spends as much time in the desert as possible, reflecting his love of the land. His blend of operational insight and lived experience adds valuable perspective to the Pakal Cafe board.

Yoni Berg
Founding Board Member

Yoni Berg is a founding board member of Pakal Cafe and has been involved since its earliest stages, helping shape the organization’s vision and long-term direction. His commitment to community service and organizational stewardship plays a key role in ensuring Pakal Cafe remains sustainable, mission-focused, and impactful. Yoni brings a steady, values-driven presence to the board and is dedicated to supporting those who serve Israel.

Yoni lives in Efrat with his wife and four beautiful daughters and also works as a tour guide, sharing his knowledge and passion for the land with others.

Yoav Orbach
Founding Board Member

Yoav Orbach serves as a founding board member of Pakal Cafe, contributing to the organization’s strategic development and governance. From its inception, he has supported the mission to honor and uplift volunteers through meaningful community initiatives. Originally from New York and raised in Israel, Yoav served in the IDF’s Search and Rescue unit and has since built a professional career focused on innovation, research, and high-quality practice.

Yoav lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Tali, and their four children. Outside of his work and organizational involvement, Yoav pursues lifelong learning, martial arts — holding a black belt — and cycling, reflecting his dedication to personal growth and community connection.

Shuey Fogel

Shuey Fogel is a founding board member of Pakal Cafe and has been instrumental in supporting the organization’s foundation and growth. He brings a deep commitment to service and communal responsibility, helping ensure that Pakal Cafe operates with clarity, values, and long-term vision. Shuey’s leadership supports the organization’s continued impact and sustainability.
